Annotation remarks

CORDIAL is designed as a resource for teaching ELE, but also useful for linguistic research. It collects 240 spontaneous recordings (dialogues and conversations), not spontaneous and public recordings (interviews, conferences, etc.) with their orthographic transcriptions. Annotation and labeling guidelines remain in C-ORAL-ROM (see that corpus) and includes prosodic features, functions and other oral communication properties (reformulations, breaks, etc.). The corpus includes metalinguistic information about the speakers and the subject of recording, as well as specific data for use in ELE classes (eg. Level of difficulty). The online search engine gives access to (downloadable) files both audio and text. The selection criteria are: types of texts, difficulty level, subject and communicative functions. The engine does not allow searches by words or by specific placements.
